Commitment Sunday
Welcome to worship on this
first Sunday of the New Year. For the Salvation Army this day is set aside as
Vision and Commitment Sunday, a chance to renew our commitment to God and to
reflect on how we might love and follow Christ more fully and deeply in the
year ahead.
The Salvation Army in the UK & Ireland has chosen this
year to focus on Discipleship. In the coming weeks during our Sunday worship
we will be exploring our own journey of discipleship, and how we might
develop and grow in our faith over the course of this year.
May God bless each of us as we journey together!
What is The Salvation Army?
The
Salvation Army is a Christian Church and charity. Founded in 1865, The
Salvation Army has always had a focus on demonstrating God’s love in
practical ways.

Film Night
‘The Shack’
On Sunday 21 January at 6pm we’re having a film night to watch ‘The
Shack’ (12 rating), following on from the Book Club’s reading of the novel
last year. It’s a fascinating, moving and challenging story about a man’s
encounter with God following a family tragedy. All are welcome to come and
enjoy the film (whether or not you’ve read the book!).
Week
of Prayer for Christian Unity
From 18th – 25th
January churches in the UK will be marking a Week of Prayer for Christian
Unity. This year the resources have been produced in the Carribean, reflecting
some of the modern day issues addressed by the churches in that region, such
as abuse of human rights, trafficking and addictions. Daily resources for
prayer will be available in our prayer space, or can be downloaded by
visiting www.ctbi.org.uk
Please
pray for…
