This is the Word of the Lord

I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord Almighty. ‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty. ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.” Haggai 2:7-9

‎Esther Knott‎ to Praying for Ethan

Friday 23rd February
Hope you're sitting comfortably, it's a bit of a long update.
So let's start with all the answers to prayer:
As Ethan has been a patient at GOSH for the last 6 years, we know a lot of people. Our favourite nurse appeared on the ward just as Ethan was about to have the cannula fitted. She was a real help. Despite the fact Ethan was feeling very faint, he still managed to hold me in a head lock while the doctor found a good vein. There were no problems and it was probably one of the best experiences of cannula's being fitted.
Also, due to the fact Ethan doesn't move his arm after a cannula's fitted, he kept amazingly still in the scan resulting in a perfect picture!
We also know many of the catering staff at GOSH and because of that we always get a really nice hot meal at a 'special' price 😜
Finally, we also saw Ethan's hospital teacher who informed us that Ethan's has helped many , many children and teachers. We made a video for the hospital school back in 2015 to help schools with transition for sick children from hospital back into school. This has helped many teachers, schools and children 👍👍
Now on to the tricky stuff.
Unfortunately, it has now been confirmed that Ethan has lung disease due to graft versus host disease. Next week Ethan begins a week of high dose steroid pulses. Another cannula to be fitted on Tuesday 😬
The great difficulty is that GOSH haven't seen anything like this before and are now in conversation with the BMT team in the USA. This week of steroids are just to stop this getting worse but this is not a long term plan. Ethan is struggling now for breath and tires very quickly. It's complicated and causes us great concern.
I simply ask that you pray for his consultants to make the right decisions and that he is well looked after.
Thank you for your constant prayers and words of support.
Much love, Esther X

Spurgeon's Daily Readings

19th October
"Babes in Christ."—1 Corinthians 3:1.

RE you mourning, believer, because you are so weak in the divine life: because your faith is so little, your love so feeble? Cheer up, for you have cause for gratitude. Remember that in some things you are equal to the greatest and most full-grown Christian. You are as much bought with blood as he is. You are as much an adopted child of God as any other believer. An infant is as truly a child of its parents as is the full-grown man. You are as completely justified, for your justification is not a thing of degrees: your little faith has made you clean every whit. You have as much right to the precious things of the covenant as the most advanced believers, for your right to covenant mercies lies not in your growth, but in the covenant itself; and your faith in Jesus is not the measure, but the token of your inheritance in Him. You are as rich as the richest, if not in enjoyment, yet in real possession. The smallest star that gleams is set in heaven; the faintest ray of light has affinity with the great orb of day. In the family register of glory the small and the great are written with the same pen. You are as dear to your Father's heart as the greatest in the family. Jesus is very tender over you. You are like the smoking flax; a rougher spirit would say, "put out that smoking flax, it fills the room with an offensive odour!" but the smoking flax He will not quench. You are like a bruised reed; and any less tender hand than that of the Chief Musician would tread upon you or throw you away, but He will never break the bruised reed. Instead of being downcast by reason of what you are, you should triumph in Christ. Am I but little in Israel? Yet in Christ I am made to sit in heavenly places. Am I poor in faith? Still in Jesus I am heir of all things. Though "less than nothing I can boast, and vanity confess." yet, if the root of the matter be in me I will rejoice in the Lord, and glory in the God of my salvation
