Week
of Prayer for Christian Unity
This Sunday falls in the middle of
the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity which is marked each year in January.
The ministers in Pill are taking part in a ‘Pulpit Exchange’ and so we are
pleased to welcome Rev Jill Flowers from Pill Methodist Church who is leading
our service today.
Lt. Nick is preaching at Christ
Church and Lt. Shelley is leading the service and preaching at the Methodist
Church.
Please visit our prayer stations
and find out more about the theme, resources and prayers for the Week of
prayer for Christian Unity, which this year come from the Carribean.

News &
information
‘Fresh
Expression’ – The Next Step
The Christian community of Pill is
exploring setting up a fresh expression of church in the village. Having
already met to learn about Fresh Expressions, another meeting is being held today,
Sunday 21st January, at 5pm in the Methodist Church to think about
what should happen next. You’re all invited and welcome to join us.
Week
of Prayer for Christian Unity
From 18th – 25th
January churches in the UK are marking a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
This year the resources have been produced in the Carribean, reflecting some
of the modern day issues addressed by the churches in that region, such as
abuse of human rights, trafficking and addictions. Daily resources for prayer
are available in our prayer space, or can be downloaded by visiting www.ctbi.org.uk
Film Night
‘The Shack’- Resheduled
Next Sunday 28th January at 6pm we’re having a film night to watch
‘The Shack’ (12 rating), following on from the Book Club’s reading of the
novel last year. It’s a fascinating, moving and challenging story about a
man’s encounter with God following a family tragedy. All are welcome to come
and enjoy the film (whether or not you’ve read the book!).
Please
pray for…
‘I
urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them;
intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.’ 1 Timothy 2:1
· A number of members of our church and
community who continue to have health issues, undergo, or recover from
treatment.
· Liz Marsh and her family and friends,
as Dennis Marsh’s funeral takes place this coming Friday.
· The churches in Pill, and throughout
the UK and Ireland as they pray for greater unity today and in the coming
week.
